Training...For Real
29 May 2008
I've been bad about the constant updates, but I have been good about keeping up with training. Last weekend I went to the Lakes District for my first hiking training...in England. Hiking in England is comparative to training wheels on a bike, but you have to start somewhere. At least the area was beautiful. And I managed to climb some of their "peaks" ( nothing over 1,500 ft compared to 8,000 ft on most days of my trek) in good time. My stamina is much improved (thank you, 2 hour runs) and I'm getting used to carrying my belongings with me. I may have to make another trip north to prepare for the intense hiking to come. In the meanwhile, here are a few photos from my trip to the Lakes District. Enjoy!
