Mission Malawi is a 500km cycle challenge through Malawi and Mozambique in order to raise funds to contribute to ActionAid's HIV/AIDS work in Malawi and Mozambique.
My Message
At the end of summer 2006, I made a career change and started on a path which continues to bring me face to face with new and interesting challenges. Over the past 3 years I've invested a lot of time working with charitable and non-profit organizations across the US and a few here in the UK and find it can be very fulfilling, knowing that you are actually helping other people. I happened to meet Les Pratt, the organizer of the first Mission Malawi and am currently working with a colleague that went on the second ride. Listening to them speak of their experience and hearing the passion about how important this fundraising effort is, I decided it's time for me to do a bit of personal fundraising for a good cause as well. On a personal level - I have watched many friends pass from HIV/AIDS related illnesses and living in a first-world country, this is really unacceptable. I would like to do this ride in memory of all the friends that have passed away and remind those still living with the virus that the fight continues. We should all do more to help those that are not in a position to help themselves.Donations to date
