Building up the miles and the intensity.  I ran at 9 minute pace on the St Annes sand on Tuesday and about five miles in all.  It is mind numbingly lung burstingly tough. Running on soft sand is really demanding. Yesterday I ran for about four miles with two miles at 10 minute pace but at slopes ranging from 0% to 5%.

Today I was very tired and slept an hour this afternoon.   My back aches.   I cross train on an exercise bike for 30 minutes and about 10k. on non running days like today.

I am still working at weight reduction to 10st.  10st 5 today and I spend a lot of my time hungry.  I am trying to hold calories at 2000 per day which needs a lot of determination.  I have dieted for 6 weeks with zero result trying to persuade myself that my % body fat is going down.  Unfortunately the monitor gives results which are all over the place.

I have started the fund raising and am sending emails out to friends.  This needs a lot of persistance.

Overall I have had really good health of the last few months and the gradual buildup in miles and intensity is working well.   I am currently doing 17 miles running per week.
