Christmas day

25 Dec 2007

How is this possible? I have totally misread the training buildup plan. I have been doing a long run every week but I should have been doing it every other weekend. The 15 mile run really poleaxed me and left me exhausted and ill with a sore throat and a bad chest. I have responded with a lot of sleep and echinacea and vitamin C.
I managed to catch my chest before it need antibiotics. Great.

Mary and I went to midnight mass and I was asked to do a reading which I greatly enjoyed.

After five days of a very meticulous application of the McKenzie system based on his book my back pain seems to have subsided and as I write I have no pain at all just a little tiredness in my lower back. Wow. The pain point is to maintain at all times a good posture when sitting and standing and keeping a curve in your lower back. My daughter's boyfriend Pete advised me to get this book and I am very grateful. I recognise it might come and go a bit but I will continue to work on the exercises which call for tean pushups and hips on floor every two hours.

I have tried not to stuff too much food and we have had a very nice Christmas so far. We bought our main meals and veg from M&S including turkey which made for a very stress free day.
