Cross training and feeling good

I am working so hard at the training. I know most people will not have decided to run yet but I know what I will face at 64 and I know what I need to do. In this last month I have established a pattern of mile repeats at race pace, hill work and long slow run with a total of 20 miles per week. I have also introduced cross training - cycling, rowing, and step machine for the non running days. I am doing pilates and stretching. For the last four marathons I did not cross train and I am sure that for an older runner where we only run three times per week we need to cross train. Also I am starting to build in mental training and visualisation.
I am living with the osteo arthritis in my back as it is only achy and not too bad. My throat and chest are pretty good now.
For the first time since the Marathon of last April and being ill for one month, I am starting to feel physically strong again.
