Eight mile repeats

Tonight I did 11.5 miles including eight mile repeats at about 10 mins 30 per mile.  I am a bit sore in my lower back but feeling very good.  I took no carb en route.  

I am ruthlesslessly following the Galloway methods this year and my health is much better.  I have had a detailed look at the last two years and I was quite shocked at how tired and poorly I was last March.  iIreally pushed the long runs last year but did them at 12.5 min miles rather than the 14 min miles I should have done.  I ran a training matathon on March 2 last year in the same time I ran the actual marathon some 6 weeks later.  I am building up the three elements at the prescribed limits:

  1.     Mile repeats at race pace with 6 min recovery walks  - building race pace capability
  2.    250 m 3% hills at 6.6mph  with 6 min recovery walks  - building leg strength
  3.     Long runs at race pace plus 3 mins miles - i.e.  14 minute miles  with intermittant 2% hills - building endurance

On top of this I am nearly a stone lighter and aiming to improve carb loading before the long runs and fat burning during by nearly eliminating glucose intake on everything below 14 miles.
