Good progress - and all is not lost

Following the hip pain problem I have been  fitted with a 3mm lift for my left shoe by my physio.  Since then I have been achey - but more when I walk than run.  Lynne reckons it is my right SI joint that is causing the problem linked to my longer right leg.  My right ITB is vastly better - and I am sure due to the orthoses I have now.

I have done an analysis of the last four marathons and have - surprisingly that the lowest mileage is associated with the best result.  The critical issue seems to be speed and running tempo runs ( I think that is the term)  at race pace.  I have done some research which confirms what I thought.  Tempo runs are at 85/90% of max heart rate and build to 10/12 miles - done in two chunks separated by a recovery jog of five mins. 

I ran 10 miles today with the last 6 miles at 10 minute miles.  I also found that the one minute walk break each mile drops the overall heart rate even though you have to run at 6.2 mph - ie faster than if you don't take a walk break.  It went ok. and I wa susing Ibuprofen - no reall pains and I had take two Ibuprofen. I had soem digestion problems.

My fund raising has stuck a bit so I will have another go this week.
