Hill work and feeling like a beaten up old boot

02 Feb 2008

Yesterday was a wonderful day in which my brother moved into a superb care home just catering for his needs.

I did two or three hill repeats yesterday in a six mile run- 250 m at 6.6 mph and 3% incline.  Today I am quite sore in the backside area or perhaps you don't want to know that.  1% on all running this week nearly and 24 miles in all.  I will do 12 miles tommorow at 14 minute miles - that's incredibly slow but hopefully gives me the endurance without the exhaustion.  My weight is stable at 64.5kg which is good.

During this non speed run I kept my max heart rate below 70% and had to gradually slow down from 5.4 mph to 4.8mph.  Yes I know that is practically stationary but remember I am on old codger here.

With ofline gifts we are up to 340 pounds donated.
