Oh  Marathon team - you should be proud - and at least 800  lives will be saved by the investment in agriculture that the money raised so far will enable.  In simple food terms  over a hundred children can be fed for one year on this money.  These children would die otherwise.

For those who have never run a marathon before I have the following advice on top of what you have been told so far.

For the first 15 miles then enjoy the incredible party but go off very slowly.

When you run and you hurt my friends -  and you will - then remember this  - you are heroes.  When your bodies beg you to stop after 20 miles then remember  you are gladiators - you are the  the strong and the brave.  The crowd will scream for you.  Your friends and family will shout for you.  They will carry you for the last few miles.

But if you cannot through illness or pain then be gentle on yourselves - there is always another day and there are people to help you.

All who attempt to run the marathon are the brave and true - especially those who raise money for those who suffer.

Take it easy now and let your bodies recover and gather strength.
