Week 12 - pains all over and frozen peas down my trousers - soya problem
07 Mar 2010
Ok I managed 28.5 miles this week. Well I counted a very gentle 2 mile stroll in the grounds of Chatsworth in that total after all a mile is a mile Today I managed a 20 mile run in a slow 4 hours on my treadmill. My right calf was sore - even with solpadol. But ...but ...but I finished the run which is goodoh given the fact I was walking with a stick earlier in the week. All is not lost. I am aiming for a minimum 440 miles in the 16 weeks.
I am grinding away with the fundraising - only 10 pounds this week and a promise of £26 but I will keep trying. The trouble is the is no novelty now in my run. The first time there was a sort of question as to whether I would sort of collapse half way through. The drama is not really there. Maybe I should stage a megadrama - maybe it will happen naturally!
This evening I have pain from right glut down to my calf. I have been stuffing frozen peas and soya mince down my trousers which worked actually except the soya fell out and I had to hoover it up fast before Bertie the dog ate the raw soya mince. I think the technique is RICE ie rest - whereas I was hoovering. The ice bit worked.
