On this demanding cycling trip, you'll cycle 400km through Malawi, exploring diverse and stunning landscapes. Your be able to meet local people en route as you cycle, and see why Malawi is called the "warm heart of Africa". You'll visit ActionAid partners who are working with people living with HIV and AIDS and see first-hand the difference you are making to people's lives.

I plan to cycle 400km across Malawi in May 2012 to raise money to combat the spread of HIV and AIDS in the country. It will take me approximately 2 weeks and in that time I can see first hand the work being carried out by ActionAid. I'm hoping to raise enough money to help slow the spread of HIV and AIDS particularily within children. Please sponsor me!

Hi,
Some of you may know that I've been involved with Malawi for several years now, I've sponsored young Francis with ActionAid since he was a toddler and the correspondence we've had over the years has let me see him develop and grow. Francis is the same age as my twins Ava & Elise, but the chances of Francis outliving me are slim. HIV and Aids is rife in Malawi with many children being infected at birth, what chance do they have? They need the medicines to fight the disease and the education to prevent the spread.
I want to do this because I want to help stop HIV and Aids in Malawi. We can't stop it with just our contribution thats true, but if we prevent just one infected child it would have been worth it.
I'm lucky enough to know some truly wonderful people, so I'm reaching out to all of you to help me raise £8,000 by May 2012. Whatever you donate contributes greatly, so thank you all very much.
