Psymusic.co.uk Child Sponorship
Part of Fundraising in your local area
Engage your community with the work of ActionAid. No idea is too small when it comes to fundraising! Start off with placing collection tins in your local shops, then move to cake sales or bric-a-brac stall. Organise a collection at your local supermarket or try your hand at carol singing at your local train station.
On your own, with friends, through work or with a local group, the money you raise can make a real difference to the lives of some of the world’s poorest people.

This is the fundraising page for the Psymusic.co.uk child sponsorship idea. By raising £180 we will be able to sponsor a child for a year and change their life for the better.
My Message
This is the fundraising page for Psyforum. A few months ago an idea was brought up to sponsor a child - as a community - and help change a life for the better.
This is an excerpt from an email I received from Actionaid:
In poor communities all over the world, children face a miserable and uncertain future - simply because they are poor. Dirty water, insufficient food and a lack of healthcare leave them vulnerable to disease. And with no chance of an education, they'll have little chance to break out of poverty and build a better life. That is why we work with these poor and marginalised people to help them secure access to food, water, education, healthcare, and the opportunity to earn a living. The community require long term support, so when we first set up a new project, we estimate the cost of implementing the work and how many children will need to be sponsored at £180. This will ensure that the community is able to achieve a sustainable future.
You would receive two communication from our about the child every year, with updates from the project area as to where your money is being sent, we also have a magazine Common Cause which you will receive a couple of time a year. This is a nice magazine full of stories from different countries every issue, and keep you informed about ActionAid in general ---------------------- The magazine and letters from the child could be put up onto the internet or circulated through the community via post. This page is up for 6 months - so hopefully with the combined pledges and a little more of a push we will be able to raise the target amount and have a child sponsored soon enough.
