Quiz Night Events
Part of First Hand Experience Nepal 2008
Congratulations to our fantastic team of 22 who have just returned from the stunning magical kingdom of Nepal where they worked alongside a local community building vital family homes.
From the moment they signed up and started raising their sponsorship right through to digging foundations, lifting bricks and mixing cement the team all worked really hard, with enthusiasm and dedication so thank you so much for that!
Throughout the week everyone got to know the villagers they were working with and despite the physical work and long days in the heat the days were full of smiles, laughter and fun as everyone pulled together to get the job done.

At the end of the week the team had managed to get all 23 houses on the settlement started and the work they helped to achieve in five days would have normally taken the community 4-6 weeks to complete!
The team also raised over £78,000 for ActionAid's priority work, an amazing achievement! Their sponsorship will go towards funding ActionAid's priority work around the world to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of those living in poverty. Thank you so much to everyone who took part and to all your sponsors for making ths possible.

My Message
The Old Peculier Quiz Night was held in my home village of Handsacre on Thursday 28th August and was again a great success. My dad was the quiz master and did a fantastic job - Thank you xXx.
The raffle also went well and combined with quiz entry fees helped raised a total for the evening of spot on £70!!
A special thanks must go to Thelma at the Old P for agreeing to support my chairty and for organising the quiz night. Supper was included in the entry fee and thanks again to Thelma and all the old P staff for providing it!

The North Mid Quiz Night was held on Wednesday 2nd July. There was a good turn out with 5 teams taking part in all. The quiz was split into 2 parts; the main part comprising 60 questions across 6 rounds. The second part was a music quiz which ran along side the main questions with a possible 72 music bands hidden in a crypic picture.
The theme for the evening was British Pub Quiz and we had peanuts, pork scratchings, pork pies, pickled onions, draft beer from mini kegs and not to mention plenty of other pub-style goodies.
Taking home the trophy's - The winning team for the main quiz was "Jimmy Whip"
The winning team for the music quiz was "The Butthole Surfers", so Congratulations to both teams!
In total we managed to raise £120 for ActionAid and helping me on my way to my £3100 target.
