Rebecca's Main Sponsorship Page
Part of First Hand Experience Nepal 2008
Congratulations to our fantastic team of 22 who have just returned from the stunning magical kingdom of Nepal where they worked alongside a local community building vital family homes.
From the moment they signed up and started raising their sponsorship right through to digging foundations, lifting bricks and mixing cement the team all worked really hard, with enthusiasm and dedication so thank you so much for that!
Throughout the week everyone got to know the villagers they were working with and despite the physical work and long days in the heat the days were full of smiles, laughter and fun as everyone pulled together to get the job done.
"The whole thing has been the most amazing experience of my life. I feel so privileged to have worked alongside such welcoming and lovely people." Grace Hall, Nepal 2008
At the end of the week the team had managed to get all 23 houses on the settlement started and the work they helped to achieve in five days would have normally taken the community 4-6 weeks to complete!
The team also raised over £78,000 for ActionAid's priority work, an amazing achievement! Their sponsorship will go towards funding ActionAid's priority work around the world to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of those living in poverty. Thank you so much to everyone who took part and to all your sponsors for making ths possible.
We are running the event again in 2009. If you would like to find out more just click on the link below to be sent a full brochure and registration form.

I am going to Nepal in October this year to help the local Kamaiya people build much needed homes. I will be working alongside these people to help them build new homes in their communities. Building homes and building better futures!
My Message
Welcome to my main sponsorship page for my fundraising for the Nepal House Building Challenge
A reminder of all the things I could be getting involved in whilst in Nepal working for the Kaymaiya people:
- Clearing land
- Digging foundations
- Laying bricks or blocks
- Plastering and Painting,
- Installing windows, door frames etc
- Mixing concrete & mortar
As you can see - I will have to work hard for your sponsorship money, but the benefits of this work and of your donatations will reap rewards 10 times as great!
I need to raise a minimum of £3,100 (most of this by mid Aug). As you may have noticed, the target bar at the top of this page is lower than the minimum target - this is because it is not the TOTAL target. My other fundraising pages, also have target bars which add up to the total £3100 minimum required.
You can visit the most relevant page and donate on whatever page you like - it all goes towards my goal and all goes towards ActionAid's work.
Wish me luck for the challenge ahead, and please show your support! Donations can be gratefully received here online, or on my traditional sponsorship form, for which I can collect cash or cheques. I will hopefully be organising some fundraising events as well!
Don't forget to tick the GiftAid box if you are a UK taxpayer - that way your money is worth even more to ActionAid! Thank You!!
