Mount Everest Base Camp 1 - a 17-day trek with a purpose!
My Message
As an existing child sponsor through ActionAid, I am already supportive of their efforts working with poor and marginalised communities to help them recognise, promote and secure their basic rights, and control their own development.
My dear friend Jennifer Venables roped me into this trek... so no more smoking and some serious training to be done!
Why am I aiming to raise £1096? Well...
£60 which could provide a nutritious meal for a street child every night for a year at an ActionAid street shelter in Delhi, India.
+ £100 which could run a medical unit for 5 days, treating over 1000 people in Gujurat.
+ £150 which could buy 50 shoes to help a community start farming again in Rwanda.
+ £200 which could provide enough medicine and nutritional supplements to keep 20 HIV/AIDS orphans healthy for a year in Rwanda.
+ £250 which could pay for the annual salary of one teacher/facilitator at an Access centre in Ethiopia.
+ £336 which could provide a street child in India with food, shelter, medical care and education for a year.
= £1096 which really goes a long way when it's sent in the right direction, doesn't it?! Please show your support and sponsor me today! :D
As part of the fundraising, I'm seeking new child sponsors as well as donations - it all helps the same cause.
Thanks for your support - hopefully I will make it!
