Part of First Hand Experience Nepal 2008

Congratulations to our fantastic team of 22 who have just returned from the stunning magical kingdom of Nepal where they worked alongside a local community building vital family homes. 

From the moment they signed up and started raising their sponsorship right through to digging foundations, lifting bricks and mixing cement the team all worked really hard, with enthusiasm and dedication so thank you so much for that!  

Throughout the week everyone got to know the villagers they were working with and despite the physical work and long days in the heat the days were full of smiles, laughter and fun as everyone pulled together to get the job done.

At the end of the week the team had managed to get all 23 houses on the settlement started and the work they helped to achieve in five days would have normally taken the community 4-6 weeks to complete!

The team also raised over £78,000 for ActionAid's priority work, an amazing achievement! Their sponsorship will go towards funding ActionAid's priority work around the world to make a real and lasting difference to the lives of those living in poverty.
