Hi im Christina a student at the University of Ulster studying a Business Degree. I am going to South Africa next year with my friend Lisa to build a community centre in the Limpopo Provience where over 77% of the population are facing extreme poverty. This will provide clean water, training and healthcare facilities which will benefit thousands of people and which are everday essentials that we take for granted. Any donations big or small are greatly appreciated as the minimum target is £3100. Thanks for looking at my page :-)

Sarah and I have signed up to do the South Africa Community Challenge in September 2009 - building a community centre in Ndwayana in the Eastern Cape Province. This will be a challenge for us both, but will contribute to a community in a way that will make a difference as well as provide an experience that will stay with us forever.

We have to raise a minimum of £3200 each - if you can spare a pound/Dollar/Euro or two, then you will be able to satisfy yourself with the thought it will help consign us to a tent in the Eastern Cape in the African Winter!

Naturally of course with are both skilled builders, so undoubtably when they find out exactly how skilled we are, we will be assigned to the concrete mixer!

However the end reult will I hope be will worth the hard labour.

My name is Sarah, I'm 29 years old and come from Liverpool. For some time I have wanted to participate in one of actionaids community challenge's and decided that this year I would do it!! I have now signed up to the South Africa community challenge where I will be working in Ngqushwa in the Eastern Cape region to help build a much needed community centre. The community centre will be used by three villages, providing a library and information centre, a meeting place for the community and a training centre where people can learn new skills. This is for such a good cause so I want to raise as much money as possible for actionaid to help make a difference that is so desperately needed.

My name is Peter and I’m taking part in an Action Aid Challenge in South Africa. My wife and I have been involved with Action Aid for a long time and 2 Years ago Lynn went on the “Footsteps of the Maasai trek” in the Rift Valley. This year she signed up for the Community Challenge in South Africa and persuaded me to join her. We will be working in Ngqushwa in the Eastern Cape region with local people on a construction project to provide a library, information centre and meeting place for 3 villages. This will also be a used for training and learning new skills. There is a great need for this facility and funds raised by me and other members of the challenge team will make a huge difference to the quality of life within this community.
I would therefore ask you to give generously to this very worthy cause which will change lives in many ways.
