I live in Gloucestershire and love the countryside and walking. I took part in the Midsummer Challenge in the Lake District to celebrate my 50th Birthday. It was a great experience and we raised money for this great cause.

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

The plan is that we will add updates and a blog to this site as we start to gear up for the event in June.

First off, Richard has promised some 'evidence' of his training on board the ship. We all know that Richards training usually involves just his right arm and a pint of Guiness, however I have faith that we may see some sailor like star jumps and perhaps a press up or two

Secondly, on the 4th May I have roped in some faithful friends to join me on a practice run around Dovedale and the high Peak trail, so watch this space for some photos of our adventure.

Finally, when Richard gets home, I will allow him 24 hours or so to relax, before dragging him off to some other remote wilderness to practice in readiness for the big event on the 21st June.

So, not forgetting that this is all about charity and 100% of whatever monies we raise will go to a very worthy cause - please give generously.

I've worked in the ActionAid Fundraising team for the past four years. During that time, I've seen some fantastic ActionAid projects and met some wonderful people during my visits to Nepal and Mozambique.

In June this year, I'm taking on the Lake District (woo!). More specifically, I'm taking a 'leisurely' 20 mile stroll across the peaks from sunrise to sunset in order to raise some pennies for ActionAid. Hopefully the first of many challenges.

Back once again...
2 Events completed and still on the look out!

I've now returned from the enjoyable (if a little damp) Midsummer Challenge in the Lake District over the Summer Solstice weekend. We trekked to the top of CatBells for a beautiful sunrise over Derwent water before making a long descent then attempted a similar walk for sunset only to be greeted by persistent and torrential rain - it was midsummer in the UK after all.

Thanks to everyone who sponsored me, really appreciated - there is still time to donate so please follow the link to the right.

Update - First batch of photos (pre-dawn!) from the Midsummer Challenge now online
