Investec Trust (Guernsey) - Support
Part of Community challenge Cambodia 2007
21 supporters returned from this amazing challenge in December. We worked on 2 community centres and made incredible progress on the sites. We worked hard, we made friends, we played with the children and we came home with new skills and experiences to share! We will be returning to build another centre in 2008 and we need you to join us!

My Message
15th May - Food-a-thon & seated massage. Staff brought along an amazing array of cakes & savouries (homemade or shop bought) on the day and then bought them back again. Several people were pleased not to have to go out to get lunch as the weather was pretty dire.
There were two chocolate cakes which we chose to raffle at 20p a go. Well who really wants to cut up a chocolate caterpillar or an exquisite Thorntons Luxury chocolate cake?
Then there was the seated massage on offer. A little added luxury to ease away the stresses of the day. So thanks to Mandy Le Messurier for providing those.
Super takings on the day which are going to be matched by Investec.
Massage £66, Raffle £48.80 and Buffet spread £211.10. Total 325.90.
As a spin off to this 2 ladies who were celebrating their Birthdays later in the week asked for cakes to be made which bought in an extra £70.
Jayne White who has been very supportive got into the baking thing and the following weekend indulged in a therapy baking session which then sold on for £16.50.
1st June - Auction of Promises. Staff at Investec offices in Guernsey offered their talents as lots and bid to win someone elses.
Well that was the order of the day and everyting went swimmingly with 18 lots eventually sold from baking to painting a mural for a child's wall, an IT engineer to sort your home PC to full body massage, a makeover, 2 nights of babysitting and an hour of Architectural Consultancy. The bidding was fierce on several of the lots and the cash just rolled in with a super £518 being raised which Investec have matched.
A BIG THANK YOU TO MY EMPLOYERS & COLLEAGUES WHO REALLY GOT INTO THE SPIRIT OF THE EVENT.
30th July - Intranet Article appears. A 450 word press release appeared on the Investec intranet site together with a picture of me suitably attired in building gear (hi-vis jacket, hard hat, steel top-capped boots and gloves) posing with a Kango drill.
21st Sept - Cost of Jayne White's massage £10 donated by Mandy Le Messurier
Ongoing May to Nov - Collection Jar. A glass Demi-John sits in the middle of the office for anyone to throw their small change in to. This was boosted considerably recently when we undertook an office move and everyone cleared out their drawers.
£80 donated by Tracey Gilliland in return for baking her Birthday cakes.
£30 from Simon Duquemin for two cakes to celebrate his promotion.
£45 for baking cakes for Mya Gurney's 2nd birthday party.
