Hi - I've just signed up too for the Nepal challenge too. I ran the Reading half marathon on Sunday and this has kicked off my fundrasing but I still have away to go. Not sure about my building skills - think I will need to get some tips before I go.

I contacted a local building firm and they got straight back to me agreeing to supply all the kit as long as I would get them photos of me in Nepal with "Hills" emblazoned on everything.  I thought that was a pretty fair pay off and offered to send photos to  the local paper, if they wanted.

Don't think these will be glamorous photos!

So now that I am there with kit and fundraising I have to get motivated to get fitter and stronger.  There lies my biggest challenge.

Hello to everyone doing the Nepal Challenge this year. I just thought I'd add a note in here - as it seems like as good a place as any - to say that if anyone is struggling to find building site kit - like a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves etc, I may be able to help you out. I wouldn't like to promise it absolutly, but I work for a building contractor and that kind of stuff is easy for me to come by. I am speaking to my company soon about sponsorship and I will be asking about the donation of some protective clothing / hat etc as well - so it's a good possiblity I may be able to help. Just drop me an e-mail or reply in this formum thread if you're in need and I will see what can be done!

Hi Vikki. Yes I am going on the Nepal Challenge this year. So exciting.

How is your fund raising going? I haven't started yet as I have only just had by place confirmed. I'm thinking about organising a Murder Mystery Event in a local school hall or something. I've never organised a public event before though - so no idea how I'll pull it off!!

I just heard on Saturday that I got a place on the Nepal challenge.  Really pleased and am busy thinking of how to get fundraising off to a good start.  Then I had better think about getting fit!
