Street Collections

Any person wishing to hold a house-to-house or street collection must first seek the permission of their local authority. The requirements for permission may vary between local authorities so please make sure you follow the advice given. The Fundraising Event Team can help with a letter of authorisation from the organisation if required.
Once you have secured permission, please contact the Fundraising Event Team to request official collector’s badges for all of your collectors. Please note that all collectors should be over 16 years of age OR accompanied by an adult at all times during the collection.
Please note: ActionAid has it’s own national house-to-house collection period in late summer. You will not need to contact your local authority to take part and ActionAid will send you appropriate envelopes and materials and can also help you select target streets. For more information please contact lcp@actionaid.org.uk

Private collection

If you wish to collect money for ActionAid on private property – for example, in the workplace, pubs, shops, supermarkets, railway stations or tube stations – you must first request the permission of the owner. The Fundraising Event Team can help with a letter of authorisation from the organisation if required, and will provide collecting tins and authorisation badges.
Please note that all collectors should be over 16 years of age OR accompanied by an adult at all times during the collection.
