Part of PoverTee Day 2009

PoverTee Day 2

Change the world. Wear a t-shirt.

On Friday 26th June there’s something very simple you can do to help end poverty – wear a t-shirt and donate £2 to ActionAid.

Just ditch your normal clothes or uniform, wear one of your favourite t-shirts for the day then donate £2 to ActionAid.

Getting your friends, family and workmates involved couldn't be easier so sign up today and we'll send you everthing you need to raise lots of money on the day.

Bid on our PoverTee Day celebrity t-shirts on eBay until midday on Sunday 28th June. Ricky Gervais, Graham Norton, Joanna Lumley and many more have hand customised a series of stunning t-shirts. All the money raised will go directly to ActionAid.

If you are planning an event at work, check out how you can Paint the Boss.

ANY DONATIONS MADE AFTER THIS DATE WILL STILL CONTRIBUTE TO ACTIONAID'S VITAL WORK BUT WILL NOT BE ENTERED INTO THIS DRAW.

My Message

Helen is one of a number of leading celebrities - including Ricky Gervais, Graham Norton and the saintly Joanna Lumley - who have created and signed a one-off, unique t-shirt each reflecting their personalities to be sold for ActionAid - and Helen's is earmarked for an IoS reader.

It is a 100% organic, certified fair trade cotton t-shirt, lovingly hand-customised by Helen for PoverTee Day.  Minx that she is, she has written ‘Get it out for the Girls’ on the front and ‘Your money you fool. 70% of the worlds poorest are female. End poverty. ActionAid’ on the back of the t-shirt.

It is a woman’s t-shirt, size ten/small. There is not another one like it in the world - how cool would that be, either to wear yourself or for a pressie?

ActionAid’s first ever PoverTee Day will take place on Friday 26 June, when everyone in the UK is asked to ditch their usual suit or uniform and donate £2 to wear a t-shirt. To find out more click here

All the money raised on the day and from IoS readers will go directly to ActionAid’s work with some of the poorest people and communities in the world. ActionAid works in over forty countries worldwide to fight global poverty and injustice. To find out more click here

We will select the lucky winner of Helen's t-shirt at random.

Get donating and good luck!
