About me
In October 2008, we will leave the comfort of our homes behind and attempt to conquer the tallest free standing mountain in the world – Mount Kilimanjaro – in support of ActionAid.
The first three days of this charity challenge we will spend with children at a local school in one of the Tanzania’s poorest communities – Moshi – the very people we are there to help!
Then we will begin the climb of Mt Kilimanjaro which towers 5,985 meters above the plains below. During the rise, we will battle altitude sickness while trekking through 5 major eco-zones; including rainforest, alpine desert and glazier.
We’ve decided to take on this challenge in support of ActionAid which is an international anti-poverty charity fighting poverty and injustice worldwide and the causes that ActionAid’s work so tirelessly for every single day are very close to both our heart and we feel that giving up a fortnight of our lives to make a difference to the existence of so many less fortunate people is really no that much of a hardship!
