Well a bit about me. I am Matthew, 33 years old born in Bedfordshire, raised by great parents in rural Cheshire and I owe a lot to them for the many great life opportunities I have had in the past. Now living in Central Manchester, I work as an Account Manager for a large packaging company which is a job I really enjoy. It has given me the chance to travel extensively not only in this country but around Europe as well.

I decided to get involved with the Mission Malawi project after seeing accounts of the wonderful work that has already been done by the charity in Malawi. I have also witnessed how it has changed the lives of those who have made the trip previously, especially my great friend Dave Armstrong, who now devotes a great deal of his time to helping orphans in Malawi as a result of what he saw on his first trip to the country.

I feel that I am very fortunate to live in a country where the great majority do not have to think about the very basic of life’s necessities and where basic and more advanced medical care is taken for granted and it is time for me to give something to those not less fortunate than myself.

The people of Malawi have a very different experience of life and I want to make my small contribution to help tackle the huge problems this country faces in the light of the HIV crisis, where a whole generation has been wiped out by the virus.
