Part of Vicky's Water Project
Vicky’s Water Project has been established to raise funds in memory of Victoria Buchanan who was tragically killed whilst bicycling to work in October 2006. On the 30th September 2007, 190 of Vicky's friends and family took part in the Great North Run to support Vicky's Water Project. This is the largest single group of friends and family to ever participate in the race. With your support they have raised in excess of £400,000 - including money pledged and gift aid - which will bring clean running water to 20,000 people in and around Lera Town, Ethiopia. Thank you!

My Message
Nothing motivates me more than having a goal; when the opportunity came up to run the Great North Run to raise money for a worthwhile cause such as Vicky’s Water project I literally 'ran' at the chance! Vicky was a good friend of my boyfriends at Uni, she was tragically killed cycling to work. I sadly never met Vicky but I feel I have many things in common with her. Running is something I really enjoy. With one marathon already under my belt, that was a few years ago now, it's time to dust off the marathon runners for a summer of training to help make Vicky's impressive projects such as this Water Project live on. Any sponsorship you can give would be fantastic; even just the price of a pint! Oh and I’ll be wearing a Tarzan outfit…! Which has to be an incentive to dig deep! Thanks so much for all your support!
