london marathon 2008
Part of Flora London Marathon 2008
A big well done to all our 37 runners who completed the Flora London Marathon 2008 on Sunday 13th April. Despite the rain everyone made great time. It was fantastic to see so many of you at the reception with your family and friends.
A special mention to Liam, Alex, James and Maire from SSFC who completed the Mini-Marathon for ActionAid and our Convict Team who broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest chained team in 3 hours 38 minutes and 27 seconds!

Speaks for itself. It'll be the fourth time I have run for ActionAid at London Marathon.
My Message
16th May 2008
Hi all,
Well I managed to get round in just under 4:17, and came 15,815th (out of about 34,500!!).
My left leg fell off after about 20 miles and I did some nifty hobbling-running combo towards the end. These things happen sometimes and it didn't spoil the super experience of the London marathon too much, and thank goodness the wombles didn't overtake me.
It was interesting to be hailed on too (a first).
Sorry there are no photos....my camera stopped working for some reason at tthe start line.
I was so 'downhearted' I agreed to run the Edinburgh marathon on 25th May with my friend Nathan Gregory from work (this time for a mental health charity). I have not run once since London. I am clearly a fool.
Thanks to all those who have already sponsored me so generously. You still can if you want (until July). I would love to hear from any chums who I haven't communicated with for a while. e-mail is still tobymoate@blueyonder.co.uk.
Thanks too to the super team at actionaid who gave us tea and cakes afterwards and for all their cheery organisation and support up to the race.
Cheers
Toby

Here we go again - London marathon time on Sunday 13th April........................
GIVE ME LOTS OF MONEY! Please Please x 1,000,000.
This site takes no commission for your donations unlike the "justgiving" site I used previously.
I donated my fees from MHA Section Assessments to the cause - £1700+ so far.
We have now raised 9,000+ quid for charities at 3 London marathons (Actionaid) and also New York (MIND). So thanks very much to those that have opened their wallets - especially Mei-Li, JJ and Jacqui, Bob, Tabitha, and various NHS staff who don't really know me that well, for being particularly generous. Thanks especially to Tim and Amanda who normally look after me during marathon weekend - 'Team Toby' - we will get tee-shirts made eventually.
I have decided to not wear silly clothes this time so I am incognito and don't have to thank the crowd 100's of times for shouting support! Lovely but very tiring actually.
For those that have been out of touch with me:
I continue to drink and smoke vigorously. Blobby is about a million years old (15.333 actually) and is deaf and a nearly blind, but still causes havok. I am feeling increasingly morally soiled working for the NHS, and am going part-time in July - that is my understanding Chris....but is it true? - to do gardening jobs in my spare time.
I am still single - what a surprise! - and have no love children as far as I am aware.
cheers
Toby
